They are both sub $1000, arond the 1500g weight range, and fashionable
looking wheels. My question is... is there something about either one of
these 2 sets of wheels that sway your recommendation? Such as one has
a superior hub than the other etc etc?

I like 'em both, just wanted to hear what ya'll have to say.

Thanks!!!

Have had both, honestly, there is little difference in my mind btwn the two. Personally think the Eurus look better and they are truly built like a sh*t brickhouse.

Head over to 11speed.com for an absolutely awesome deal on the Eurus - this is where I bought mine in early 06.

Happy trails,

Wow, thanks for the info. Great deal! Too good to be true... are they
reliable? Shipping cost is okay to US?

And when you said "sh*t brickhouse" that does NOT imply they feel heavy right?

The 2006 Eurus are a little heavier than the K's, by about 150g in real world weight. Like he said though, both are darn tough. If you don't mind silver K's, look at www.probikekit.com (http://www.probikekit.com) as they have a killer deal on them and shipping is under $50 with no customs fees. 11speed has really jumped the price of shipping up. I almost ordered a set of wheels from them and the shipping was going to be over $100, plus they usually get their stuff hit by customs for up to 10% more on delivery. Stuff from Probikekit doesn't seem to get charged customs fees ever. Factor those two things into the price when shopping at 11speed. Also, last time I checked they are out of 2006 and 2007 Eurus, but have a great deal on the 2005 wheels that have the old rear wheels lacing pattern. For a great deal on 2006 Eurus, go to www.txcyclesport.com (http://www.txcyclesport.com) They were selling them for $729.

I got a set of 2006 Euruses for $400.

:) :) :) bwahaha!

Okay, done bragging. It was a classified ad. They didn't make the listing very exciting, or indicate that they were brand new 2006 models.

Looks like Spookyload may have made a more recent purchase then I from 11speed. But my experience with them was excellent.

Got a great deal on the wheels and a bunch of other parts. It was shipped to me to Boston from Italy and arrived in 3 days (that's faster than Excelsports!). S&H was reasonable, i.e., not significantly more than other stateside mail order shops and the price difference on the wheels alone more than made up for it.

As for customs, it seems to all depend on the shipper. (See previous posts on 11speed). I did not have to pay any customs fees.

Lastly, no the Eurus are not that heavy - and believe they are much closer in weight to K's then previous poster mentioned ~1575g.

Definitely go for the 2006 model as there were significant improvements made over 2005 and earlier editions of Eurus.

The 2006 Eurus are consistently around 1600g. Weight weenies has many threads that this is discussed about. Here is one:

I have seen reports of the K's being anywhere from 1495-1540.

Both are real solid wheels and you really shouldn't worry about the weight differences. You won't feel any real world difference in the weights. A big bonus for the Eurus is the 2006 is tubeless tire ready. This could be big if they ever make the tires commercially available.
