Installed a pair of Stelvio Evolution Front/Rear specific tires about a month ago. The model is HS347. There is also a Stelvio model that is not front/rear specific. The HS347s have Front and Rear in white lettering.

I have been riding a lot and have been trying new pairs of tires; I've been a long time Continental GP/3000/4000 user.

These, Schwalbe, tires are very nice. A bit heavy at 235g but they really roll great. They feel faster than the Continentals even though they are heavier. They corner great and are very comfortable; after a month are in still in great shape (no cuts, etc). I bought the 23c; they look fatter than the 23c Contis. I believe they come in 25c (250g) but not less than 23c.

Lastly, a photo of the upper part of the Stelvio which the tires are named after. I climbed it in July. Beautiful.

A granfondo. For me they really roll very well, and handle great. I would highly recommend them if they were a bit lighter but I can see some might not like the add'l weight vs. other tires in this category.

Adding my brief part of a review:

The Stelvio Evolutions are pretty nice tires. I don't think the weight matters. Real-world, I weighed some of these, and Michelin Pro Race, Vittoria Rubino Pro, and Conti GP 3000. They all came in + / - 10 gm of each other at 700 x 23. Michelin Pro Lite and one other "TT-specifc," I forget which, were lighter, and Michelin Carbons were a little heavier. Vittoria Open Corsa were a LITTLE lighter.

The Stelvio grips well. It's relatively puncture-resistant, but it's definitely a "race tire" in terms of durability -- it wore faster than a Michelin Pro race. Despite the front and rear specific compounds, I still wore out the rear tire faster than the front.

I like it marginally better -- or it may be in my head -- than any other nylon-casing clincher, but not as well as I like "open tubulars" like Vittoria Open Corsa and Veloflex. Those two, of course, cost more and last half as long...

I have trained and raced on these tires. They work fine for racing.
