I want a freaking tax refund for my share. Although I can't see how blaming Rumsfeld is constructive and I guess I don't have a mind that jumps to conspiracy theories connecting the DOD and the airlines in some grand scheme to benefit the airlines.
I remember reading an article about Pork Barrel spending in Newsweek a few years ago and Senator Robert Byrd was profiled as the worst offender (or best exploiter). I really thoght Byrd should have been put in prison/tried for treason for basically robbing the treasury for frivolous projects.

See? You don't know me as well as you thought.
I think there should be a line item veto. There is entirely too much waste in government, cronyism, underhanded deals, etc...

I agree that there needs to be more regulation on politician's spending in general and there does seem to be a bad pattern of dems and high spending.

How is it different from the recurring bailouts of the air industry (among other industries) via governement subsidies, etc? It amounts to the same thing - the airlines get our tax dollars.
