JayTee 11-17-2006, 08:07 PM Part of it may be laziness (okay, speaking for myself). I like a summary with the link used almost like a reference site in a term paper... I rarely have the patience to follow them unless I want to double check the description. I'm lame. Hopefully others have a different, better excuse.
il sogno 11-17-2006, 09:28 PM Your last link doesn't work either. Looks like it got pulled.
bigbill 11-17-2006, 10:38 PM Silly libbie,
You can't sell a story or post without a little fear. If the past six or so years have taught us anything it is how to sell a story. Tell me something that I should be afraid of, show me a picture of a young blond girl who went missing while jogging on campus. Put up a background with some catch phrase. You have learned nothing from Fox.

I'm the same way. Gimme a clip from the article that supports your point and then the link.

Beck is just a moron pure and simple for asking the new Congressman to prove that he was and is not an enemy of the US just because he's a Muslim. Although, unfortunately, I'm certain that there are lots of people within the borders of the US who think that. Beck included. If anyone deserves the term asshat, it's got to be Mr. Beck.

You should always wait for 100 views, since that is a good estimate of the "crowd" as any.
Snakebit 11-18-2006, 06:41 AM I know some real racists, not just biased but the real deal and you couldn't get them to vote Republican at gun point. Democrats are good at bringing these issues up in a passive manner. Sort of like the military thing with Kerry. It was that campaign that made an issue of military service of the candidates, Bush is a coward and a deserter. We heard it in the Gore run as well and then you chose John Kerry as your candidate. Thank you, thank you very much.
I never watch Glenn Beck, I share your opinion of him and he does not represent the Republican base. He is a jackass.
JayTee 11-18-2006, 07:05 AM That would be a tough one to give meaningful political legs, since the Beck interview was about Islam, not race, wasn't it? SO I guess I am really trying to undertand how the issue could really play out at a national level.

Beck is the Jiminy Glick of conservative television. A true random thought generator just like the Dana Carvey character. What blows me away is that he is on CNN, what are they thinking? If it was a move to capture some Fox viewers, I think it turns away more of their own viewers than it gains from other networks. I guess Michael Savage wasn't available.

Libbie? Ho ho! In Hawaii I would be a moderate. :D
p.s. The last 6 years - I thought they were a comedy.
atpjunkie 11-18-2006, 08:12 PM just do a Glenn Beck Aug 22 Apocalypse search.
or his interview with our first Muslim Congressman
I ain't trying to scare. Just saying Cons are gonna go old school, colored people (Black and Brown) and San Francisco Liberals (which means Pro Gay) they will test this water, here me out

Jimminy Glick was a Martin Short character, not Dana Carvey. I saw the Beck clip on the only real honest news show...THE DAILY SHOW!
atpjunkie 11-19-2006, 08:34 AM Beck goes on a Aug 22nd Doomsday prediction (which he never retracted and very Republicanny is trying to erase from record) then 3 months later asks the first Muslim Congressman "You're a cut and runner, how can I trust you? How do I not know you are working with them?" and this guy receives journalistic rewards?
but off topic. watch: since their culture of corruption has put a huge dent in the Indy and Fundy votes, and since their typical sheep herding once every 2 year issues didn't have the punch and since the only successful campaign the waged used race as an issue I'm just predicting they will test these waters for 2008.
spyderman 11-19-2006, 09:45 AM p.s. The last 6 years - I thought they were a comedy.
Ho ho, in the truest history of the theater, aren't comedies really tragedies? :wink5:

Sorry my friend... Your thread may also be a victim of T'day travel weekend...
Anyway, I heard about the Glenn Beck interview but hadn't seen it until it was aired on the Daily Show.
I liken Glenn Beck to the Jerry Springer of neoconservatism. He is a complete arse. He's running a campaign of fear and hate against Muslims.
I wasn't terribly shocked to see CNN promoting his piece, piece of carp. Like the NY Times, they too have given up their principles and shifted toward the neocon audience in a misguided money grab. It's all about ratings and they're in the shitter for both CNN and FauxNews. I wonder why??? It kills me that I have to watch the BCS on Faux this year...
Haven't you neocons learned anything from the elections??? The people have spoken. They will no longer allow you to manipulate them with fear mongering in order to win elections.

I should watch more tv. I always enjoyed the triangle and Pat Sajak.
