HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......Where'd you get it??? Ebay....??? Post a pic..... atpjunkie 11-19-2006, 06:52 PM I hate you guys who can just 'accidently' buy bikes. I coulda had a very nice, slightly used Pegoretti Marcello for about $950 and the Mrs. put the Kaibash down. I'm still pissed toomanybikes 11-19-2006, 06:58 PM Yes it was / is / was Phillipe's. Honestly, it was an accident. I put the lights on the Curtlo and headed out tonight for a ride knowing full well that the price would sail far out of my upper limit by the time I got back. I got back and found an email saying I won it. It's a damn beautiful frame but I am really afraid that it may be a titch too big. I honestly thought someone would sail past my limit - came within $5. What the H is wrong with people??????????? I figure I can sell the Colnago and actually make money on it, or recover what I spent so the the Merckx will be a neutral or even positive mistake and I think I'd rather have the Merckx than a Colnago. Thoughts?? Len J 11-19-2006, 07:06 PM Yes it was / is / was Phillipe's. Honestly, it was an accident. Len TMB..I think I'm having a TIA...which Colnago???? toomanybikes 11-19-2006, 07:10 PM Yep, Pot / Kettle , etc............ My wife was actually pretty excited when I told her ( that may be a bad sign). OOppps. The good news is that I do have pretty complete stock of Super Record parts around. I actually badly need to clean up and do an inventory of them. I was rooting around in a tool box last night looking for an axle, found a new in box - Super Record front derailleur ( moron) - how can I have something like that out there and not know it's there?? toomanybikes 11-19-2006, 07:16 PM This one .. http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=78876 physasst 11-19-2006, 07:19 PM This one .. http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=78876 that's right.....Personally...I'd keep em both, unless you're really hurting for the cash. I'd keep the nag aside for a future build project. That's just me though... Out of curiosity, how much do you want for it? jeebus 11-19-2006, 07:20 PM AIIIIGGGHHHH! I had bid on the frame a few days ago. I got carried away with cleaning up my place tonight and forgot to go back and bid more! I was a 1/2 hour late! I was the $300.37 bidder and was going to go higher but forgot to check back. AIIIIGGGGHHHH! I wanted that Merckx! I've been looking at buying a corsa, but don't really like the 7-11 colors on the NOS ones online. A few weeks ago I missed out on a great De Rosa Neo Primato with new centaur parts that I forgot to check back on. GRRRRR! I wanted that pearl white and red Merckx! I'm so angry at myself! I was even thinking of having it repainted in the same colors before building it up. That was a good price for a great frame. Just needs a little freshening up of the paint. If you find no need for it, I might still be interested! T-shirt 11-20-2006, 09:58 AM AIIIIGGGHHHH!...GRRRRR! jeebus, Cheer up and Buy these. If this frame was my size, you couldn't out bid me. (Actually, it's BIN) Maybe it's not tippy-top-of-the-line but, I was so excited to see this frame. Alas, unless somebody chops 5cm's off of it, I'll just settle for, 'right click, save image as...' These items aren't mine, and I won't post a link, but I'll give you the item titles as listed on ebay. ...Anyway, good luck with your Merckx search. Frame: "Concorde Astore Frameset Ciocc New NOS Merckx" Saddle:"Concorde by San Marco NOS Road Track Saddle 80's" Thanks, Tshirt toomanybikes 11-20-2006, 10:42 AM jeebus, Cheer up and Buy these. I'm still pissed I hate it when I spend a good year or so deciding on my next bike, and then fuss and save for the build and TerryB and TMB just drop frames and builds on me left and right. I don't get to 'accidentally' buy bikes either.........:( Jeez ATP, you should have seen the hardware at the USGP in Portland yesterday.... rufus 11-20-2006, 04:18 PM god, that Concorde is beautiful. i'd snap that up in a heartbeat if it was my size. toomanybikes 11-20-2006, 05:36 PM that's right.....Personally...I'd keep em both, unless you're really hurting for the cash. Funny thing is Air Mail from France to here was less costly than the Surface mail I sent to Ireland a couple of months ago! This is the Corsa I bought from PhillipeC. The bike is in very good shape considering, a few nicks in the paint but nothing significant and I can fill those and then clear coat. I had thought of repainting it until I saw it. The Pearl and Red are both Metallic flake finishes, and the Pearl is a "deep" finish. The Downtube lettering is not a decal, it is painted on and the letters are outlined in Gold Flake, don't know if that will show in these pics. The serial number on the bottom Bracket and steer tube are the same - always a good sign. Again, don't know if it shows in the pictures but there are three shades of Red where it fades into the Pearl, all three are metallic flake. I could never re-produce this finish. I had thought about Faema, but having seen this - I'm keeping this. Don't understand why Phillipe let it go. physasst 12-09-2006, 12:13 PM the Merckx arrived here in a little under two weeks.
