http://www.velonews.com/images/int/6248.8039.f.jpgHere is a picture from the stage on Friday. Check out the paint job on his frame. Is this the frame he has been riding all year? I don't remember seeing a paint job like that in the past.

I too have noticed many paint variations on the Posties' bikes. I guess USPS is not as strict as other teams about everyoun riding the same scheme. Actually, I think all the USPS riders have an arsenal of bikes that they ride, all with various paint jobs. Maybe Hincappie pulled this "trusty steed" out for this particular stage...

Its the new color scheme for the 2005 Treks that will be available late Fall. The rest of the team will be on that color during next months Tour de France.

Better Pic here. Check out the red spokes and carbon hubs on the Bontie wheels.

That bike is actually white and Metalic grey, not blue. Very odd. I also noticed the lack of socks. What is up with that? I have never seen a pro go sans socks.

On a side note, it pissses me off that cycling news won't let you hyperlink a picture anymore.

In order to bypass the script hold down right mouse button outside of image, release above image, menu will appear as usual. If they rig the whole page, hold down right mouse button on scroll bar and release above intended area....now it's out I'm sure Micro$haft will fix that in a next update.

Maybe he had to make a "dump" stop and used them as TP. One of the FDJ riders was talking about Bradley McGee in the Giro stopping for a "dump" stop and coming out of the woods with only one sock. He had used the other for TP. You never know....

This is good news. Maybe it will put a dent in the Armstrong style of using socks half way up to the knee. The way LA's socks keep going up and his short keep going down, in about two years he'll only have about four inches of knee showing.

Something just looks wrong with those shoe straps. Kinda long.
He must have slipped past the shoe strap police before he started.

I am on the other end of the spectrum... as was Greg LeMond.. he used to have to take his shoes to a shoe maker who would unstitch the straps and move them over so he could use them. After Carnac started to make his shoes (after his 2nd Tour win) they made shoes with extra long straps for him, something like an extra 2 and 1/2 inches of straps because his feet were both wide and he had a high arch with orthotics too. I read somewhere once that his feet are a 9 EEE.
