Well I would like some of the fat black bladed spokes on my Equipes... I am not to worried about getting the lighter weight SL's etc, I just have an obsession with the look of bladed spokes. Is it possible for me to swap out my basic spokes for a set of bladed spokes? I asked before but got no real good info. Some info would be great, I just like the look of blades a ton. I just cant spend the $700 for the SC SSL to save less than a pound.

You would spend a fortune one spokes and labor if it is even possible. Here is what I would do. Sell your wheels on ebay, which should bring just about full retail price BTW, then buy a set of the SSC's, not the SL's. They should be had for around $350 by now.

sell the Equipes, order a set of handbuilts (or consider building your own pair!).

Mike (owner of the site) sells spokes, too. Wheelsmith AE15s are good spokes, bladed, much less expensive than the famous Sapim CX-ray, less strong, nearly as light (I think within 15 grams/ 32 spoke wheel).

How come any time someone has a wheel question, there is always a handful of responses that say ditch the K's and get a set of handbuilts? Did he ask about handbuilts? No, he said he liked the look of the FAT bladed spokes on the K's.

agreed, but there is no way to put bladed spokes on the Ksyrium Equipes. I'm not anti-prebuilts like some of the posters here, but the most cost-effective solution if he wants bladed spokes (any sort of bladed spokes) is handbuilts.
if the OP wants the fat, Ksyrium-style blades, then the available options include getting Ksyrium Elites (I remember the spokes are bladed, but they're not fat), or the SSCs (too expensive for the OP).
I didn't notice that IUbike wanted the fat spokes when I first posted. my bad.

I like the idea of the SL's, exact wheel look I want :) Anyone want a lowmileage set of Equipes? There are some SL's on ebay right now, $350 I can swing no prob. Any more tips are great!
