I have Campy Neutron wheels and am really pleased with them but am new to this technology. They are 1 1/2 years old with about 11,000 miles. Some of the spokes appear to have rotated so they are now at different angles, including one that is 90 degrees to the wheel!!! Is this phenomenon common? Do wheels like these need to be "serviced" which includes spoke readjustment? Easy to do myself? Any advice appreciated. William.

You can just give the nipples a turn to line up the spokes - they may be twisted when you're done, but they will come around. Alternatively, you can clamp the spokes with some soft-jawd pliers, or wrap a piece of cloth around them and grab that with the pliers to straighten things out. None of this will likely affect the true of the wheels, but if it does, then adjust the nipples with the spoke clamped in the proper orientation.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago. I used a quick-grip clamp that had rubber pads to grab the spoke and straighten it. I did this several times before I came up with the idea to remove the dust caps and put a drop or 2 of locktite in the slots that hold the spokes. Haven't had a problem since.
