When I let my dog out he pissed on the porch and ran right back inside. Were you down there racing or just shooting? I raced and the cold was pretty miserable. There was a great showing for the race though. I'm guessing but there were at least 50 riders or so riders in the 4's. The course was kinda fun with a lot of loose snow (kinda like a big, long sand pit) and some icy corners. It felt like I spent at least as much time shouldering/pushing my bike as I did actually riding it. RHRoop 12-04-2006, 09:27 AM The Montrose race was the funnest race of the year. It was cold enough to make you cry but you knew you were there with people who wanted to race and have a good time. I think fun must operate in proportion to cold when it comes to cross racing. Fattybiker 12-04-2006, 03:58 PM Miserable? I'm with RHRoop, that was the most fun race of the year! Cat 4 had 69 racers! 15 degree temperature, 4-6 inches of snow, slipery ice laden off cambers, mud, hills, and probably the best view in all of cyclocross. Chicago in December can't be beat! Thank goodness someone was boiling up some apple cider after the race. That and the Turin girl with the Tennessee bourbon made coughing up my lung worth it :D :D :D We need more races like that:thumbsup: Fattybiker 12-04-2006, 04:09 PM golzy, I understand, from the cyclocross forum race results section, that your wife snaps the pics. Next year I gotta give you my jersey description so that she could snap a few pics of me. My girlfriend took a few pics of me, that is a picture of either my leg, arse, or some other ill-defined and blurry picture of some other body part that I can't make out :cryin: Your wife on the other hand has taken some nice pics of this years races  CHAOTICMESS 12-05-2006, 01:17 PM The race was a blast even though I got spanked!!! I was very impressed with the turnout. The course was very fun with all the ice in the technical spots. I am glad I like winter mtb riding, I watched and passed many fumbling riders. Good job and great season all, see yah next year:thumbsup: Scotty2Hotty 12-07-2006, 04:32 AM This guy looks like he was about to drop dead. http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k193/Sheesh_photo/Montrose%2012-3-06/?action=view¤t=CrossPics-Montrose12-3-06039.jpg golzy 01-08-2007, 11:59 AM golzy, I understand, from the cyclocross forum race results section, that your wife snaps the pics. Santa actually got her a new camera for the holidays so she'll be geared up and ready. FWIW, she'll this summer probably be at some of the Chi-area road races & crits too... so if you're out there let me know. RHRoop 01-10-2007, 08:04 AM When I saw that post I thought. Uh oh...he's gonna embarass me. I know I had to have been looking beat by the end. |
