View Full Version : And I thought my Light & Motion was tops ... DrRoebuck 12-13-2006, 10:08 PM http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/bigbang.asp FatTireFred 12-14-2006, 06:23 AM for $903 it had better be good... and for $903 you would think they could include the $3 adapter for free Scot_Gore 12-14-2006, 07:56 AM http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/bigbang.asp I remember looking at the Nite Rider's in 2000 or 2001 and thinking.... "boy, those are nice lights, but $300.00 for a light seems nuts. Just wait a little while and these things will get cheaper" Just the opposite has happened. The lights I lust for have gone to 400, then 500, and now you post one at $900.00. I'm ready to resign myself to never being able to justify one of these babies. Scot wow, and in the span of a couple of hours the price has gone up by $50 to $953! lancezneighbor 12-14-2006, 10:12 AM I remember looking at the Nite Rider's in 2000 or 2001 and thinking.... High power LEDs should eventually overpower HID and eventually result in prices closer to halogen. Howzitbroke 12-14-2006, 11:32 AM Looks like you could cook with it in a pinch if the weather went south on a long tour. Scot Through carefully watching sales and applying a 20% off coupon code, I picked up the L&M Arc Li-Ion for $322 at Nashbar. Of course, it's usually priced anywhere from $450 - $600(!), but if the planets align just right, you can score a deal. Not that $300+ for a bicycle light could ever be called a bargain... Jim JeffS 12-15-2006, 07:40 AM wow, and in the span of a couple of hours the price has gone up by $50 to $953! Not even for sale yet, and already increasing eh? I like the idea of this light, but don't think I could justify the cost. $953 puts it in the range of the Lupine Edison 10 which has more lumens and longer life. I'm way overdue with placing an order for a good headlight - to the point that I might as well consider waiting for this. I just haven't made up my mind how I feel about the cutoff. Halogen car lights don't have cutoffs, and we're talking about less total lumens than two of those. The whiter light will make it "seem" brighter, but people should be getting more used to the HID look by now. In the end, I think I'm leaning towards a Lupine product - or save my pennies and go with the "lowly" light and motion  |
