I'm looking at older FSA ISIS cranksets. Could someone explain the various component levels of FSA components? I know their current product line is (as of 2007) skimpy on the ISIS stuff, but used stuff seems fairly prevalent. K-force appears to be their top of the line offering, but where does "Carbon Pro Team" and "SL-K" components fall in/compare? They look fairly equivalent to me. I didn't see much on the FSA site since the ISIS versions aren't in their current product lineup.

Similarly, if you were to recommend a new ISIS crankset, what's available? Compact isn't an option, this would be for a TT bike where 53/39 or 55/42 would be nice. I've had difficulty finding anything new for ISIS from most component manufacturers.

thanks!

The reason you don't see many new ISIS cranks is because most brands are switching over to the new outboard bearign designs. Among the old FSA products, aluminum cranks start at Gossamer, then move up to Energy. The carbon ISIS cranks have several names, one being Pro Team Issue. If SLK was ever made in ISIS it would have been the second tier in carbon, with K-force being the top of the line, just as it is now in the outboard bearing line.

You can get new SLK outboard bearing cranks with BB on E-bay for $200-250. Some have been removed as OEM equipment from a new bike. ISIS cranks should be even cheaper. I've bought ProTeam Issue triple cranks for $125-160.

thanks for the info. I'm currently tied to the ISIS side of things since I've invested in an ISIS Ergomo bottom bracket power meter. I'm building up a new TT bike and need some half decent cranks for the beast.

There's two different kinds of FSA ISIS carbon cranks. The "Pro Team Issue" have a one piece crank arm and spider: https://secure19.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=reparto&BusType=BtoC&Count1=733974635&Count2=651115059&ProductID=538&Target=products.asp

The "Carbon Pro" have a seperate carbon spider that's attached to the carbon crank arm:

The Carbon Pro design is available in 110mm "compact" BCD; the Team Issue only comes in 130mm BCD.
