Being the son of a machinist, you'd think I'd know better, but I managed to compound my confusion by SEARCHING on multiple bike forums and got about equal answers on both sides with different types of BBs.

Chorus 2007 external cartridge bottom bracket/cranks: Loctite cup threads or Never-seize?

And if Loctite, which color?

Is this a new bottom bracket or used? Assuming new, aren't the cups pre-treated in some way?

EDIT: Assuming you are talking about the new Ultra Torque Crankset you want Loctite 222. http://www.campagnolo.com/pdf/7225306_ULTRA_TORQUE_Crankset_UK.pdf

Thanks, that was the PDF I was searching for, but couldn't find. Thanks for that!

But note, that is recommended only if the proper tools are not available to torque the cups appropriately. If you have a BB wrench, they recommend using nothing (rather, they don't recommend anything explicitly.)

Looking here, it appears that Campy includes their own threadlock on a fresh install.

If it's a clean install, I'd use nothing; if a reinstall, I'd use 222.
