I have an S&S bike with cable splitters. The set screws on the stationary splitter end tend to fracture the cable end and then it's practically impossible to get the cable back in if the spitter needs to be taken off. What's the best solution? Solder? Crazy glue? The application is a little different than the cable ends at the derailleurs because there are set screws pressuring the cable. Thanks!

I solder mine. I dip the end of the cable in flux, heat it with a bic lighter, and apply solder. Lastly, I wet my fingers and very quickly grasp & smooth the end of the cable where I just soldered.
