View Full Version : Best way to protect a battery case from rain?

I have an oldish Cateye 10w halogen with a chunky SLA battery. The battery case is large and not waterproof. I used to keep the bat case in a bag attached to the frame, but that set-up was not ideal as the heavy battery would move around inside the bag. I have recently removed the bag and secured the case to the frame with a strap. What can one do to protect the bat from any water getting in, apart from using a plastic bag :D

I know this is a boring topic but I'd be interested to know how others have approached this kind of problem. Thanks.

I don't know how much rain you're expecting to get, but if I were dealing with this, I'd wrap the battery in a plastic bag (or a properly sized ziploc bag) and put it back in the Cateye bag (I think I know the one you mean; I have one myself) and just deal with the movement on those occasions when it's necessary.

Thanks. Yeah i live in a region known for its wet weather. I don't think that much water could penetrate the case, but i'd rather not take any chances.
