but at least I wasn't part of the Xmas shopping traffic insanity.

About 6 inches of fresh, unexpected snow over night.

"I didn't see another soul on a bike today"

Hmm. That's very mysterious. Perhaps they have all been raptured. :)

Color me green with envy.

No snow yet and since we are spending the next 2 weeks in Florida we aren't likely to have any to enjoy for a while.

I'm jealous. It was warm and sunny here today, which was nice for riding, but I'd like some snow (either for riding my bike in or for XC skiing). None in the forecast for the mid-atlantic.

We are in Kelowna, in South Central BC.

We have had more snow than normal for this time of year, and it keeps coming.

I am loving riding in it but boy does it take serious effort to move those tires through the fresh powder snow.

But it's clean and fresh and quiet, and people drive by you looking at you like you are absolutely stark raving nuts.

Went XC skiing last week, a tall blond belgian transplant went by me like I wasn't moving. All those years of serious athletic training and a healthy dose of the right genes make a difference.

Down here in Toledo, Ohio we haven't enough snow to measure ,yet. Doesn't seem right not having snow for Christmas. Enjoy the riding. Nice Pics.

Here in southern New Hampshire, the temp is about 15 to 20F above average. It's ridiculous. Right now, at 8:00AM, it's 45F 7C (!) On December 24 (!!)

It'll get colder next year, I hope.

By the way, great photos. One of these days, I'll remember to bring a camera on my rides...

I can go days, even weeks, without seeing another cyclist - excluding the kids in the neighborhood. The roadies are all out in the country. I'm genuinely shocked to run across another commuter. I've seen five or six in the last couple months total.

Me neither...rode my new Bleriot Christmas Day (in probably 45mph+ icy crosswinds, sheesh!), and then the storm came in, and 4 days later, everyone's still diggin' out. The roads are SO icy now, I scarcely dare go on 'em with 4 wheels, much less 2. Subtle torture:new bike, no way to ride it (except on the trainer, which really doesn't tell you much).
