Hate to jinx it or anything, but man...there has been some great riding weather around here lately. Granted, it's still cold, but who would have thought I would be able to get in 40 miles on the road on Christmas Eve in SW Michigan?

It's wonderful isn't it?
Tomorrow - 44 degrees.
It doesn't seem like Chrstmas, when every other day I'm debating whether or not to break out the legwarmers. Although booties are a must still, so I guess it sort of is winter.

We have some daisies trying to push through right now, because there was a cold period and now this... theyre gonna die.

Yep...I get to put off the trainer misery until the last possible minute. I'm still fighting some vicious headwinds, but I hear it builds character.

Headwinds are kind of nice. They make it easier to work harder, if that makes any sense.
I have a PowerTap so I end up crawling into the wind, since I just go the same intensity both ways. But it's odd, working at 90% going with the wind is vicious, while working at 90% going against it is... easy. I think going 12-14mph is somewhat therapeutic, in a lot of ways, too. It makes you look at the scenery more, and enjoy the ride

Today should be a good 65 mile ride. Was supose to ride on New Years Day with Sram on mtn bikes, but the ground is to soft and muddy. Its nice having 2 types of bikes...Happy New Year everyone...

Fun :)
Today I did 40 miles. Started in summer kit with arm warmers and gloves, ended with just normal summer kit, arm warmers and gloves in my jersey pockets. Wow :)
And tomorrow's supposed to be just as warm.
53 degrees right now. I love this.

I've had excellent luck with Conti GP3000/GP4000's in the rain, although a lot of people complain about those.
REALLY good luck with Kenda Iron Cloaks, which are cheap ($30), light (195g) and long lasting (1500mi on my rear and it looks brand new)
Don't try Bontragers in the rain.

Its been really nice this year riding in Kansas, mid forties around 11 am. Windy, but its always good to be out and riding down a country road in the middle of winter. Geese and woodsmoke in the air.......can't get any better than that:thumbsup:

Last Saturday we did about 50 miles with temps in the mid 40s. Quite nice and that included starting at 7:30 AM. Now that temps have fallen to something closer to normal for January I'm praying for snow so I can get the XC skis out.

Well, thanks for jinxing us guys. I guess we are paying for that mild early winter. Today was the first day in like two weeks that our temps were double digits.
I'm getting pretty tired of trainer workouts by now. I'm thinking of just bundling up like the Michelin man and riding outside. Maybe on dirt roads or something.

Just did 30 miles indoors on the rollers and I think I counted 45,678,697,767,562 threads in the carpet! Can't wait for the heat wave to hit next week. They're forcasting 20's for Chicago :D
