My baby re-built and riding once again. I bought her new in '89, and put on over 5000miles on it. I also bought a new wheelset for it (8-spd Dura-Ace with ISO-C III rims) and rode 3000 more miles on it, then I got a full time job and a car and family (my brother had it for a bit, chipped it to hell), ect. I took it with me to Japan and re-built it with some new parts but the rims cracked and it sat in pieces for 4 years untill this fall. I FINALLY bought the finishing parts to re-build it a 3rd time. She still rides like a dream and is really fast. First ride was 16miles and went well. It's been so long since I rode thin tires. I love it!!
Anyway, here are the specs:

1988 Trek 400, lugged steel

Unigluide cassette, 12-21

Thumbs up on getting her back on the road and in fine form.

My favorite posts are those where someone goes back to put their old bike on the road or those where a son or daughter puts their parents/grand parents ride back together.

I wish that I could get my hands on my first Panasonic. The one with which I raced, trained, rode cross state and so on with. Maybe my son will find my old Bianchi one day and decide to do the same.

Great job and go for another 5k before the next refit.
