I was racing on tubulars in the 80Žes and always had some on stock at that time. When I stopped racing in 1989 I still had some Vittoria Corsa CX and a few others. Now I have started racing again as a master and I want to use tubulars again. I still have those tubulars from 1989 and they look fine and keeps the air when inflated. But how will they perform if I use them compared to new tubulars when it comes to - rolling resistance, punctures, weight etc?

The tubes inside your 15 year old CX's are probably shot from age, and will begin to fail shortly. The tires themselves, are probably 100% better than what's on the market now. The "new" Vitoria's are no longer 100% cotton, and the tread is made a little stiffer to prevent punctures. Your old Vitoria's may also suffer from dry rot. A sidewall blowout, in a turn, is a very nasty thing.
