I finally got a threadless fork. eBay was really good to me. Santa was even better, new Chris King headset and Vision stem. I've wanted a King headset for a while. Yeah, I know my bike is sort of an oddity. But I really like it. The front feels a lot lighter. Once I get the cables etc routed, I'm hitting the.......trainer. :)

It looks nice. What kind of fork is it?

It's a Trek Time Trial fork off of a 2002-03 TT frame. I got it off of eBay for about $60.00 the week before X-Mas. The steerer had been cut, to my exact size. I really lucked out! I don't know if the fork was made by another company for Trek? Anyways, I'm pretty jazzed it all went together without many problems.

I think you need to either strip it back to bare carbon and clear coat it (is the crown alloy?) or get it painted with the same red as the frame .

How does the handling feel with a 1inch shorter fork ? I fitted a look full carbon to my Y foil and i hardly noticed anything except the missing 300 grams when you lift up the front end. But then again the races i do aren't as twisty as road racing.

I was thinkng of getting it painted to match the frame. I guess it depends on the $$ involved. I was really worried about the handling. My frame is a 56cm. Any larger and I'd have to find a Serotta "heads up" to maintain the original geometry. I hope to get out to ride it in a couple of days.
