He rides this two miles each way to work most days. Also gets him to/from the bar. He just got the seat (previous one broke). A friend of his did the brake lever install. He's contemplating getting a new rear tire.

that's pretty baller to have only a front brake on a SS; or does it just look like a SS FW?

Single speed. Oh, and no helmet. He doesn't like helmets. There have been a few crashes in the last few months.

Who needs brakes anyway. All they do is slow you down.

I like the zip tie holding the brake lever clamp. I was going to ask about the shoe lace next to the brake clamp, but after seeing the zip tie "clamp bolt" I'm guessing the shoe lace must be there to keep the brake lever from sliding across the handle bar. It's quite elegant, really, in a total clusterphuck sort of way...

No zip tie. All shoe lace.

Much better. A zip tie would be a tad upscale for the rest of the ensemble.

I like it!...the aging Schwinn saddle really sets it off. I had one of those on a one speed balloon tire Schwinn once...about 30 years ago.

Update!!! He liked your zip tie idea. I'd say it was tastefully executed. One zip tie would have been too easy. So he used four.

Well done. I like the nicely balanced Zip Tie Barbs. They add a bit of Ghetto Defense Art to the mounting scheme...

I like it. Those saddles are getting hard to come by. It'd fetch a pretty penny in the right location.
