I am thinking about a new wheelset. My current rear hub is a WI racer-x. It's petty, but I dont really like the sound of that hub when coasting. I know, just keep pedaling:). Do Tune hubs sound nice? Does the new WI H1 sound different than older generation WI Hubs?

I have Tunes and I've heard louder like the old Hugi's or Kings. I don't freewheel much and almost always pedal down hills even if its only soft pedaling. The bearings are awesome!

Hub noise can be tuned with different wieght oils or grease. You can make a White hub loud or quite. Care and knowlege has to be taken when doing so.

How can I make a White hub quiet? Can you share the care and knowledge?

They are "out of Tune", correct? How could they sound good, but are still better than my singing!

White hub could be quite. Pull off freehub body increase tension of pawl springs than use a few drops of Phil's oil (thick oil) on each pawl. Reinstall and should be quiter. Also less tension on springs and a drop of tri flow can work too. You got to experiment a little. I have had White Ind. Hubs since about 93.
