I am looking to buy a new set of road wheels and am weighing my options. I am looking to spend around $400.00. For a little background, I am an expert class mountain biker who does quite a bit of training on the road with a bunch of Cat 2,3,4 road guys. I race a road race every now and again, but most of my use will be on training miles and I am a weight weenie. My terrain is mostly arolling, hilly terrain (Brown County, IN) and I do quite a bit of paceline intervals

I can get a team deal on a set of Bontrager X Lites, but am also looking at the Speedcific 30mm Niobium wheelset (MIke Garcia has built up several set of wheels for me in the past and am a satisfied customer). I am also looking at the Neuvation R28 SL2's that Neuvation is blowing out on their website, which seem to be pretty well regarded.

Any thoughts or other options?

I would go with Mike Garcia's wheels. I have a MTB set that I love. Can't beat a nicely hand-built wheel. Just make sure you get the right build for your riding style, which if you know Mike already, he won't built a set without your input.

Neuvations are pretty decent.

I see it for $259 @ 1590 grams. Do you have the link?
