Ok - if you had the choice - which and why?

Clydesdale here and looking for my next ride.

How much do you weight and what size frame are you looking at?

Time has slacker angles compared to Pinarello (0.5-1 degree on average). I like slacker angles myself but you might not.

Ride them both and buy what fits you best.

I have Time Edge myself (and a Madone 5.9 too). My Time distributor told me the Translink versions of Time have 86kg rider weight limit (not sure about non-Translink) but I also know one guy who it over 100kg on his VXR with Translink and he has no problems but he only keeps his bikes for a ~year or so and gets a new one. I do not know about Pinarello carbon weigh restrictions.

I know a few "fat dudes" riding Specialized Roubaix Carbon. I used to own one, highly recommended.

The Pinarello Paris Carbon is a very beautiful frame and I'd love to have one if it actually fit me well but there's the rub. If I had to choose between the two I'd get the VXR because the geo. fits me better and it's a matter fact I actually ride a VXRS and I'm very happy with it.

Clairification:

The VXR isn't available with a Translink ISP. The VXRS Ulteam is only available with the Translink ISP. Time offers a different top portion for the Translink that is made for riders who weigh more than 86kg.

I have no direct experience with either bike, but I've now got about 120 miles on my
Time VXS Translink and I have to say that thing is a dream come true. I simply cannot
believe how well it handles, nor how smooth and comfortable and yet responsive it is.
I'm comparing it to a 15 year old LeMond Titanium bike with a Kestrel fork (made with
special rake to fit the frame) which I thought was amazingly comfortable, but there is
simply no comparison. I'm using the exact same weelset and tires too.

Wrench Science sells both Time and Pinarello. You could call and ask them for some advice. Unfortunately you can't test ride bikes there. (I bought mine from them
anyway, since they are very near my house---and I got good service.)

What exactly is different for a translink made for a heavier rider?
