View Full Version : tour of california?? z ken 01-16-2007, 05:40 PM how many of you guys are planning to attend the TOC next month?? i'm going to stage 4 in downtown san jose, my hometown. hope to see my idol basso and disco. team.:aureola: crossboy 01-16-2007, 05:57 PM Just curious as to why Basso is your idol? To answer the original question, no I am not able to make it, but would love to be there. Maybe next year for me. z ken 01-16-2007, 07:58 PM my " main " man is and will always be mr. armstrong, then basso, boonen and valverde. i only started riding bike couple years ago and have watched armstrong/basso battle in 04 TDF, actually owned 04 and 05 TDF dvds ( 12 hours version ) i tried to " copy " armstrong's " metality ", basso's climbing smoothness, boonen's of course sprinting and valverde's all-around. for sure i'm an average climber at best, o.k metality and no where near " compact " but decent sprinting. all and all i'm a tad above average rider due to my super-bling bike, aka expensive components. heheh who say money can't buy speed. crossboy 01-17-2007, 08:44 AM No Vino?? Come on. j3fri 01-17-2007, 10:07 AM vino is a good fighter... z ken 01-17-2007, 03:54 PM i do like Vino's aggressiveness, may be TOO aggressive?? it's like little bomb ready to explode any giving day. that my friend scare me a little. agressive is good, too much is bad just like drinking milk. crossboy 01-17-2007, 04:25 PM i missed not seeing him in the "bore de france" last year. he would have added a little excitement. z ken 01-17-2007, 06:44 PM everyone miss vino along with armstrong, basso and jan. this year we might not see half of big four and hopefully alejandro valverde would stay injury-free as he should provides some " new blood " in cycling. basso vs. valverde, 2 of my 4 favorite riders ( armstrong and boonen ) could be the next great rivalry. i do like all the riders b/c how could i dislike them who share the same passion as mine. Fogdweller 01-17-2007, 08:43 PM I'll catch the prologue and there is a chance that stage 1 would go within a half mile of my house if the sections of Hwy1 remain closed. One of the alternative routes is to take them over Bolinas-Fairfax Rd which would force me to take the day off work, buy a bucket of paint and roller and scroll "GO PAOLO!" in huge letters. steephill 01-18-2007, 11:52 AM I'll catch the prologue and there is a chance that stage 1 would go within a half mile of my house if the sections of Hwy1 remain closed. I read that construction wasn't suppose to be finished unitl the end of March. Is it being escalated? Bolinas-Fairfax would be a great alternative. |
