Are they really rebranded Alex wheels? For under $200 with the performance coupon 24 bladed spokes ~1750g with sealed bearing hubs they seem like a really good buy for a beginning race wheelset. Unless of course they really are just rebranded Alex wheels. Just wondering.

Some of the Performance wheels are Alex and some are Formula-don't dismiss them.I have some of the Formula/Titans and they have been great for the money[if bought on sale]

If you aren't dead set against Alex wheels, I have a good set with 16 front and 20 rear bladed spokes and cartridge bearings. Less than 500 miles and undamaged. I was going to E-bay them.

I agree. I bought the titans for a backup and upgrade on an older bike. I think they may have Formula hubs. I have also seen wheels that look identical labeled Neuvation. The titans were true with good spoke tension out of the box. Bearings are smooth without much drag, less as they break in. I think I paid about 160 for them, including shipping. This would put them close to what Ultegra/OP wheels would be, I think I've seen them for about 200.

The Titans are the same as Neuvation/Formula wheels. The box the Titans come in says imported from the John Neugent Co. in Taiwan, the owner of Neuvations-they have an interesting website.I just assumed they were a branch of Formula because they seem to have the same hubs, rims and spokes as Formula wheels.I also got them for around 160$-for that price they are a great buy.I also have some 24/28 spoke Neuvations that came on a KHS 500-they have been great also. The garish stickers come off easily on all of them for a much better looking wheel. My only complaint is that the machined brake track is somewhat narrow requiring careful pad adjustment.I have recently seen some Carbon rimmed wheels with Formula hubs from Taiwan on USA pro race circuit bikes. The Taiwanese are dominating the world bike market now in many aspects but some still like to bash Taiwan made frames and parts even though they are probably riding on them with few problems.
