Did anyone else notice that Rubiera simply dropped out of the race listings around stage 5 of the Volta a Cataluyna?

Was he sick? Did he crash out, or what?

Unless he caught a sudden case of the flu, this is a grim omen for Postal!

cyclingnews does not even list him as a DNF or DNS or such...this is not good. Rubiera is way too important to not have at top form. I hope it is just a typo/bad numbering problem. If Rubiera is off form, the Quest for #6 is in serious doubt.

it's no typo -- he's not in any of the stage listings after stage 4 and not listed in the overall.
The Catalunya website is awfully thin, so there was no info there either on crashes or DNFs.

someone at the oln board posted that CheChu got a stomach bug at Catalunya....may not be fully recovered yet. Better than a crash.

It will be interesting to see if he makes the tour team, and if so, what kind of shape he holds....can he ride himself into high mountain shape during the first two weeks of the Tour?
