View Full Version : Scott CR1 SL Frame
Mdeth1313 02-03-2007, 03:19 PM I just ordered a scott cr1 sl frameset (2006 model) from this bike shop and I cannot believe the price I got. This is their 880g frame. I'm not affiliated w/ the shop- I saw their website on a google search and emailed- they asked me to call for prices and when I called, I placed an order on the spot. I'll have it sometime next week. They were really easy to work with-- the shop is in Washington (state) and I'm in NY.
You might want to check it out- they asked me not to give the price I paid, as their prices can fluctuate depending on available stock (if you pm me I'll tell you)--
you may want to check out their other frames/bikes as well:

From my above post:

I asked them about sharing this on the forums I'm on and they asked me not to give the price because stock and prices change-- they've been great to me and I'm not about to go stepping on that. If you were thinking about buying one or you're even interested, you might want to call them and ask what their price is--

if you're expecting it to be like $600, then forget it- if you were in the market for this frame, it would be worth it. BTW- I dont think you could get the price down to what I paid if you bought the bike at that price and parted out the components.
carbonite 02-06-2007, 10:22 AM i just called that joint and oh wow. yeah right. one can get that frame brand new on the bay for at least $600 less than what he told me. which is what i am going to do. i got the first CR1 off of the bay dirt cheap, so i know i can do it again. all is well
sfrider 02-06-2007, 10:43 AM I agree, I called too and their sale price is still $500-$600 more than the price you can get online/ebay.
ganginwood 02-06-2007, 11:07 AM i bought a 2006 cr1carbon equippe with full carbon campy chorus gruppo/fulcrum wheels for 2500 out the door from my lbs. a much better deal than what is listed
Mdeth1313 02-06-2007, 08:09 PM hey,
go get it on ebay- I just figured there might be someone out there who could use the info-
I really don't care what you do with it, other than ebay, which has its own risks, this is a pretty good deal and besides that, it beats the crap out of those
"ANYONE GOT A PERFORMANCE COUPON" threads.

I'd rather get a performance coupon. Pretty average deal...actually just pretty average period, putting deal at the end is giving it more than it really deserves. You should have browsed around a little bit more man - if what you paid is what he quoted to me, you could have picked it up at a few shops for the same price or a little less and on line for anywhere from 400-600+ less.
Doesn't really put you in a position to be de de deing anyone. This isn't a "stuff that is selling for a maybe slightly less than average price but you can still get a better deal a lot of other places" forum.

I dont know what he quoted you so I can't say.
carbonite 02-11-2007, 08:30 PM nuff said. just so you all know. this is $625 dollars less than what the guy quoted me when i called. and you can print that. what are they going to do fire me?

Mdeth1313 02-12-2007, 03:42 AM well, what you were quoted and what i was quoted are 2 different things.
jimcav 02-12-2007, 08:48 AM often means a used or otherwise warranty-less frame. and when you are talking about an 880 gram frame with a history of head tube cracking, etc you may not want to go the ebay route to save $500.
For a frame like that, where you may need good support after the sale, i think it is a good deal to know about.
When i walked into a shop and got my 585 at 15% off, sure i could have gone online at got a grey market for less, and maybe with Look-USA customer service being so good it would have been fine, but sometimes it feels good to go to a shop rather than fid the best bargain.
I am close enough i could drive to that shop--maybe talk them down in person--others might be too.
i for one say thanks for taking the time

Thanks for that, but I've come to learn that RBR.com has some really great stuff on it, and there will always be those who know more and they're right no matter what. If someone else got a deal (notice I didnt put GREAT in there) they are happy with, then it helped. I've seen many posts on RBR that I thought- what a load of crap, but what's crap to me, may not be to someone else-- besides, there are more important things-- but thanks nonetheless!
