Can someone explain what Category 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mean? What are the parameters that slot riders into each category? Thanks!

What are the parameters that slot riders into each category? Thanks! Quick answer - for the USCF: All riders start as Cat5. With 10 'mass start' races you can request a move up to Cat4. From there on, you need a certain number of points to request an upgrade. Points come from your placing in races with certain numbers of riders. Cat1 is the top - unless you get a contract and become Pro. For the long answer: http://www.usacycling.org/forms/RdTrkCx_rulebook.pdf TF |
