thought more folks might see it here
seems the folks at serotta forum view it as a low end model and no one has one, or at least are not telling me anything about it
i think it strange that a company such as serotta would do anythign cheap, but maybe they did. i assumed it would be 853 triple butted or such, but i want to know
thanks jim

Jim:

I don't think your comment regarding your bike as a "low-end model" is true. There's plenty of discussions regarding Fiertes, Concours, CIII and other models on the forum.

Your Classique wasn't produced for a great number of years and perhaps a lot of folks simply don't know much about it. I can't find any references to whether or not the Classique used butted steel in any of my catalogs, although they refer to the 853 tubing as '853 Professional Service du Course' tubing. I know the Classique didn't use the Colorado Concept swaged tubing the other Serottas used.

Maybe an e-mail to Serotta themselves will get your question answered.

the low end was a quote from someone who did reply--had no info on the tubing, just that it was a low end model
thanks again
