Hi Everyone,

I hope this might not be a dumb question.

I am just wondering whether the shoes from Nike is always better than the others? Coz I am now considering buying shoes/pedals after few months riding on the pedal came along with the Trek1200 I bought few months ago.

Any input is appreciated.

Go with the shoe that fits best and you like to look at.

Yeah, a $50 shoe that fits will be much better than a $200 shoe that does not.

Try out some Shimano shoes as well. I believe they offer a lot more options, and may be a little cheaper.

The best shoes I've ever used (not including during winter, cause they suck for riding in cold weather) are Sidi Dominators. But they're really pricey.

Another option is Specialized Body Geometry shoes. They also have different sole inserts for comfort, etc.

Try them all on and get whatever fits the best, as mentioned already :)

I'll probably end up with Shimano road shoes if I don't just continue using mountain bike shoes.

See if the store let you test them... walking around with it in the store is very different than actually pedalling with it. Or check the return policy. I bought my first pair at a Performance retail location, not satisfied with it and returned it. No questions asked.

Sidis were too narrow for me.. Specialized fit my foot shape much better.

Our local REI has some Shimano R098's on sale for about $32. Not a bad deal if they fit. They are $65ish on E-bay with shipping.

No. Nike are good, but so are Sidi, Lake, Time, etc. Fit is more important

Fit and comfort are important. Stiff soles are important too.
