Hey if anyone has a moment-I'm in a quandry about figuring which bike to start with. I'm transitioning from mountain biking but never liked it...and then I tried road biking...and I am sold on that...(why did I wait so long???). So, I'm looking to get a good bike to start with...I don't want to get a junker only to have to upgrade later...so I was looking at a Soma Double Cross or a Felt F75...anyone have any suggestions on the two? I have read good things about the Felt but I've never ridden one...and my LBS isn't too familiar with them. I road a Soma and really liked it but it was a 2002 model...so here are the specs on the 2 bikes and if anyone could help me out I would love it!!!

Man, that's a hard decision. Some people really like their Somas. I really like my Felt and think it rides fantastic but it also fits me very well. Is the Soma used? How much better deal is it? I think both are great bikes, but you'll need to actually get on each one and try it out. I'm a dork in that I like to usually buy new, but if the Soma is a good deal and fits you well it might be worth it. But, there's no try and true answer for which is better for you.

One thing you might want to do is post under the Bikes and Frames Forum and just simply and nicely ask if anyone has a similar Soma and what their personal opinion is on it. I think their are at least a couple of regulars who like Soma's but I'm not sure if they have Cyclocross bikes or not.

So, I actually completely changed my mind from either. I appreciated the response...I was hoping to get more advice but yes perhaps posting in a different location would have helped? Either way, I went with a Cannondale R1000 double. It has good components and the fit is great...
