There's little difference in the build specs or the frames for that matter. Can you ride them? Which one speaks to you? What color/style do you like better? Which one is sized to fit you better? From the same shop or different shops? If different shops which one gives you better service? If the same shop will they throw in more extras or services for one than the other? How about warranties?

For me the difference between the two would come down to looks. I like the BMC seat cluster look and the color/style of the bike better.

I am with mel, I am really digging the BMC seat tube area.

Can't speak for the ride of a BMC, but it looks nice. Personally, I'm an Orbea guy. Everyone I've ever ridden has said the same thing to me, Let's go faster! Test ride both if you haven't already, if it fits well and feels good for both, then think about looks.

I like the looks of the BMC, too, and it has a better wheelset. I dig the BMC seat post like the others have said, and BMC has a very distinct style to its bikes. Very much the 'function over style' philosophy, which of course creates its own style. It's your money obviously, so buy what warms your blood. If you were buying me a bike though, with your money of course ; ), I'd let you give me the BMC.
Whatever you decide, enjoy the new ride!

I actually work at a shop and would be getting either bike without really trying one out. I am a mountain biker mostly and want to get a road bike to supplement my training. The Orbea is about $100 less for me, but that doesn't matter much.

Big question is how comfortable the BMC being all aluminum over the Orbea with the carbon seatstays. That will do it mostly for me.

I doubt you could tell the difference in ride quality between the two, carbon seatstays or not.
