For all you libby whiners who screamed that Bush was "ignoring the Geneva Convention" theres bad news. Rather than explain it all I'll throw you a quote

"Of course our values as a nation ... call for us to treat detainees humanely, including those who are not legally entitled to such treatment," he concluded in the Feb. 7, 2002, memo. Guess who.

That comment surely did a great bit of good in Iraq and Guantanimo.
Another do as I say not as I do moment. Since your playing teacher and we are but students could you enlighten us as to how the white house councils concluded that he could suspend the Geneva convention and mandate torture? Is this like Dean Wormer and double secret probation?

Since we are playing quotes. Here is one I would love for you to explain...

September 13, 2001, Bush: "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our Number One Priority and we will not rest until we find him."

March 13, 2002, Bush: "I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

I guess promises from Bush are just like promises from most politicians from both sides of the aisle.

how is that do as i say and not as i do? who did bush torture and is he supposed to know every instance a contracted employee hurts a terrorists feelings?

as for wh council, so what? even though they said he could ignore GC, he didnt. he's taken the moral path and a lib wont even acknowlege taht.

i dont have to explain his quotes. read into them what you want. the point is once again we have a whining bunch of bed wetters trying to make political hay from nothing.

btw, you should really post the link to your quotes.

So I guess that just goes to show how strong Bush's leadership is. Maybe we should get someone in there who's orders won't be ignored?

Hey bill - make sure you tell the rest of the story: like, I wonder how quickly and without trying to subvert the process will the Bushies get ALL of the documents out that the Congress has now requested??

I'm sure whatever they release will be heavily redacted and deleted in the interest of "nashnul sacure-tee".

THEY ARE LIARS, CRIMINALS, AND TRAITORS!! IT IS THAT SIMPLE MY FRIEND.

Why do I need to post links? Especially if you are prepared to disregard them out of hand. Unlike many on this board, I tend not to GOOGLE for something good. Rather I tend to write things out when I hear them "old School style" and index them for any number of different research enterprises that I am working on or may be interested in working on in the future.

No Bush did not flog anyone personally, and I don't recall anyone calling for his head on this. I hear them calling for Rummy's head, but most of those I know have a feeling that the president at this time is on a need to know basis from most of his staff and that he just doesn't like to have his head filled with details so he can continue to spout bumper sticker rhetoric.

you need to post links because i question your ability to accurately remember and recite exact quotes. old school is dead.

if you didnt hear anyone on this board calling for bushs head then you havent been listening, or not wanting to hear.

I bet you think everything you read on the internet is the truth. (Provided of course it fits your image of truth.) This may shock you but I NEVER feel the need to prove myself to you or anyone else on the internet. If you are afraid of doing your own research that is fine with me and I thought libbies were lazy.
