Thanks! I did take more photos, but unfortunately most of them came out blurry due to my lack of skills (still trying to get a hang of panning & shooting) and incredible speed of these riders.

If the weather holds, I'll be at the third stage in San Jose taking more photos.

sweet pics. i like lookin at the chain slack, something you dont notice until its either too late or in a still photo.

one request: more pics of the specialized angel. i like to see how bike companies change their models every year...

Those are some really nice shots for "lack of skills!" My first thought was that they looked very pro. What kind of camera are you using to kick those out?

Great Shots.

I am sure its a great bike but the Cannondale doesn't look like its in the same Time Trail league as the others.

I would love to have taken more shots of the Angel...but my camera battery ran out of juice at the end. :( If you haven't seen it already though, here's (http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/?pg=fullstory&id=4709) a nice article on the girl behind the wings.

Thanks! The camera I'm using is Canon Powershot G6 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_g6.asp). It's great for shooting races because it allows manual control of your shots (I used shutter-priority setting at 1/200 sec), and its swivel display allows me to shoot over the crowds. IMO it's a nice compromise between ultracompact and DSLR.

Here's a pic of another Liquigas rider I dug up...this guy seems to be riding more TT-specific bike.

phew. i thought the first pic was from a local race or something.

is cannondale running their tri-specific frame for the TT?

and does anyone know if any rider ran just a regular setup? with a short prologue and a huge climb at the end, i thought we might see a few riders with standard road bike setups. maybe the start was straight enough...

Quite a few riders ran standard setups, but none of them did particularly well...

I've noticed some Gerolsteiner guys riding fairly standard set-up...like the one seen in this mis-timed photo. It seemed most Specilaized-sponsored riders chose to use TT bikes though.

I like how NYCvelocity called it "Cannondale's Slice, or, 'we're just not trying that hard to make a TT bike'."

LOL -- seriously, though, for prologues like that, a number of riders choose normal road bikes with clip-ons.

It happened last year more, but it seems like most people thought the TT bike was faster.

I think the reason for the normal road bike is that there is a short flat, then a steep climb, and the TT rides kinda suck to climb on...

I ride a C-dale so I can get away with saying this :-P But I would be embarrassed if another companies standard issues team bike (carbon soloist) was more aero than my full-on TT rig

I now want to work towards having calves like those, wow!
