I'm wondering... any good places to get my old dropouts amputated and track (or horizontal) dropouts welded to my frame? I'm in Ann Arbor, Michigan, if it makes any difference.

Maybe look up a metal fabricating shop in your area...try here...http://yellowpages.superpages.com/listings.jsp?SRC=&C=welding&R=N&STYPE=S&MC=1&T=Ann+Arbor&S=MI&CP=Industry+%26+Agriculture%5EMetals%5EWelding%5ES ervices I just happened to find a company that will not only powdercoat my frame but if I wanted they could weld track drops on my frame too. They are a metal fab shop that makes railings etc as well as powdercoating. Let your fingers do the walking and try your yellow pages. popdan 06-25-2004, 07:48 PM but if you're set on making mods to your frame you're going to need someone who can braze new drop-outs in. brazing is like soldering only at a higher temp. not to nit pick but it may save you a minute or two if you're calling local metal fabricators. dave I'm wondering... any good places to get my old dropouts amputated and track (or horizontal) dropouts welded to my frame? Only one day turnaround, too. They're not pretty, but they work. http://www.yellowjersey.org/trakends.html |
