So I recently purchased a new 06 Specialized Allez Comp and have some small issues with it. The first one that has been bothering me are small hairline cracks at the top of the seat tube. It's actually near where the seatstay and seattube connect. I also have a small problem with the 105 brakes rubbing against the rim. I always realign it but then it comes back. Is there a way of making the brakes stay put? Thanks in advance.

You could kinda see it in this picture, for some reason the camera couldn't pick it up that well.

I think that's a carbon frame, right? If it had cracks anywhere, I'd certainly have an issue with it. It might just be the paint, but seeing that's it's a new bike, I'd take it back & ask them to fix/replace it. Just my $.02.

It is an aluminum frame with carbon seatstays. So this is not normal and should not happen? Thanks for the quick reply.

Its probably just the paint.

The brake bolt just needs to be tightened, or the wheel trued or aligned properly, or the brakes are adjusted too close to the rim.
