I'm currently riding w/Assos FI Millie shorts and need to replace them. Don't
think I'll be buying anymore at the current price.

Any recommendations from those of you who have ridden Assos? Help!!!

I haven't ridden Assos, but these are good and cheap: http://wheelworld.com/itemdetails.cfm?ID=3763

Sugoi RS Flex bibs are the closest to Assos I have found and sometimes feel better. The cut/fit is very good and the chamois is comfortable on long rides even though it doesn't have the fancy flexible interface. First N. American company bibs I have ever liked. Generally you would have to go one size smaller to get the same fit.

I've got some slightly used you can have cheap. They hardly have any skid marks at all....

I second ritjobbie. I love the Pearl bibs for the price they can't be beat. I find the pearl stuff fits well and works even better. I have a couple of the Quest bibs and have had no problems. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Another vote for Hincapie......I have some Hincapie bib shorts that my wife found brand new in a thrift shop for $7.00. I guess no one knew what they were and they were hanging in the women's lingerie section of the store.

If you are not into the chee-chee factor the Performance Ultra's bibs and shorts are a good value for the money, especially if you can get them on sale. Beware the the Ultra's are cut small and if you are in between sizes, go to the larger size. Not only is the waist smaller but so are the legs.

I bought 3 pair of Voler shorts, 3 are in landfill and the third are about half shot.

PI Microsensor 3DPro is very very very nice. Minimalist chamois, but I love them. I like them more than my Assos.

well, thanks again to mr. bush and his cronies for their war and policies which have made imported cycling goodies even more expensive than they were before. the only shorts i've ever had a bad experience were parentinis that i bought to match my colnago. i wear old voler shorts while i do indoor training.

Try Descente - shorts or bibs, both are great
