Does anyone know anything about these wheels that Easton announced back in October at Interbike? I can't find anyting on Easton's website and I was wondering if they are even available yet. I'd like to see how they compare to Flashpoints FP40 and other carbon clinchers costing around $1200.
I read that they are not using the Twin Thread Technology previously used in the Velomax wheels but going with straight pull spokes and a new hub. I currently use the Easton Circuits and like those alot. I was looking for something with a taller profile but a lighter than the Circuits. I don't race, I just like the look and bling of higher profile carbon wheels.

Since when does Easton make their own rims?
I don't think so on teh carbon clinchers, even if they do, they will cost over 3K$ since Easton likes to mark products up 5,000,000,000 percent cause they don't like to sell stuff, just want it all for themselves!

I have a set, so I know little about them. No, they're not available yet, I don't know about the delay. If I had to guess it has something to do with the different hub design maybe supplier or build. Mine use the R3 hub, so twin threads. I got these from a mechanic I know for a Pro Team sponsored by them last year. They're beautiful wheels, built exactly like the Orion II's, except with the carbon rim. List weight is 1590g for the set, and list price according to the buyer at Colorado Cyclist will be $1499 (they won't be selling them). Mine are brand new never used, so I can't comment on the ride but the quality should be bulletproof like the other wheels they make. I'm looking to sell them as I don't need such expensive wheels.

1590 grams? Are they carbon wrapped steel rims? :)
I'll give you 20 clams, seriously, I'll go to Red Lobster and get 20 clams and put them on ice

Hey Fondriest how about some sympathy here!
I'll spice up my offer:
22 clams any way you want them; on the half shell, fried, in some shrimp sauce, a day old, in hot peanut sauce, shipped 3 day priority with confirmation and insured!
