I own a Dura Ace SL 7801 wheelset (scandium) and having the brake pads (dura ace brake pads) wearing the Braking surface of the rim. I founf bits of scandium parts from the wheel on my braking pads.
Does anybody encountered the same problem?

thats happened with every aluminum wheel Ive ever owned (15 years of riding)
Thats why carbon rim makers advise not mixing carbon and aluminum wheels on the same brake pads.

I have the same wheels and have had the same problem. Just file off the little things sticking out from the brake pads. It should just be in the surface of the pads and come off easily.

You want to do more than file off the metal pieces that stick out. Go after your brake pads with a very small screwdriver, ice pick, etc. and REMOVE the metal shards. Any time you hear that telltale scraping sound when you apply the brakes, you want to get that crap out of your brake pads ASAP. There are some combinations of pads and rims that just do this, so you might want to experiment with different brake pads.

I switched my pads form original da to another brand and a test revealed, that these are
better in performance and very muchless abrasive to the rim, which one ought to fell and hear from the first moment on, although I was sceptic at first.

Thanks for your replies.
I think that a rim should not be so volunerable especialy when I'm using both D.A. rims and pads.

Can you state the brake pads brand? Is it Koolstop
I've found the Dura Ace pads gather the metal bits / shards much more than the Koolstop. Try the Koolstops if you haven't already.
