Nice picture. I commuted for the first time in a long time Monday. I head straight west when returning home for the first half of the commute and I bet I was doing at least 7 miles an hour in the 30 mph winds. It was almost laughable. I had the bike in third gear and have an 11-34 cassette.

Up here on the other side of the city you might have been using that 34 to get up the hills I take to get home (College Park to Silver Spring). FWIW, it was windy in the creek beds, too.

Here in central Connecticut yesterday afternoon, I looked out the window at a horizontal snow squall, and watched a group of pigeons flapping mightily into the wind. They were going backwards, until they tacked over toward the building and got a bit of shelter, whereupon they finally began to make some (slower-than walking speed) progress. Those birds can fly at 50 mph. I was glad I wasn't on the bike. Oh, the temperature at the time was about 12F.

MB1, where is that underpass? That's a great photo.

My commute was 55 degrees this morning. It should be about 80 when I go home. Clear skies, calm, and sunny.....

I'm taking the long way home.

Our commute was 25 degrees and snowing this morning. It should be the same this evening. Grey skies, blowing and snowing.

We are taking the long way home.

Good day for a ride.

I took the long way over to the bank today.....through the park the long way...around....over....back a different way. MTB.

It's not that often we get a snow like this here. We got 2-3" of COLD fluffy snow that was nice and grippy to ride around on....and not that deep so still fast.
