Good evening all,

We took the my new bike out for the first ride tonight. We started at the MUT entrance near the corner of Guilford Rd. and Berger Rd. It's about two miles to the lake, one mile around, and two back. I was towing Isabel and Ann was running in prep for her marathon the end of this month.

The ride is pleasant enough and there are multiple bridge crossings. Isabel wouldn't stop yelling at me to be careful of every little bump she felt in the trailer.

So, here are a few pictures and my first attempt at a ride report. I know I should have captured more images of the lake but Ann didn't want to stop too many times.

A little waterfall they have coming out from the lake. I assume they have this water pumped back up somehow.

Here's a map of the trail system. I'm too lazy to annotate where we started and ended but if you're really interested, let me know and I'll try to describe it. (I can't get this rotated right for some reason...)

Going home.

Additionally, if you have Google Earth and want placemarks of where this is, let me know. I'll shoot them out in email or somehow get them uploaded. Comments and suggestions welcome!

Sounds like it was a fun, successful kid excursion. Cool stuff.

I agree, we should bump this one and Wooglins about twenty times each with a simple response of BUMP, that will teach him (and Gregg might come looking for a volunteer)

Oh Man! Lake Elkhorn used to be one of THE party spots. The buzz I used to get there. Uh, circa 1980. I didn't even know there was a MUT there now.

I can see that. It looks like a place I would definitely want to hang out and camp and pound back a few beers.
