What aluminum tubular rims are out there with at least semi-aero sections? Which of them would be good for a clyde (6'-6", 220#)?
Here's what I've got so far:
-Niobium (IRD?) 26mm used by Ligero. Price and source (for rims only) unknown
-Velocity Pro Elite 30mm 560g 60 bucks at Bulltek Sports, other sources?
-Fir SRG 30 - 30mm, very little info about price or source
What else?
Thanks!

I was excited to see you list this [i've been looking for these rims, they're not too easy to find], until I looked at Bulltek and they say they're closing...
I've seen Pro Elites (in 700c) on ebay before - often titled as Deep V rather than 'Pro Elite'.
Another option is NOS Mavic CXP30s.

The Niobium will be fine for you.
I have a pair arrivng in the next few days from my builder.
Troy posted a picture a few weeks ago of his rims.

Got my Deep V alias Pro Elite (says both on the sticker) at www.worldclassbikes.com for 45 each. The owner is great to talk to on the phone and they have decent deals on tires and some hard to find things like tire latex for regluing base tape properly after repairs.

Pick up a set of the older Campy Shamals on ebay. They had a 42mm rim I believe. Damn shame they stopped making them.

+1 on that. A bit heavy but very fast and strong wheels. Mavic used to make a knock off that was also great. I gave a set to a Jr. and he races them every weekend.

Gipiemme make a Shamal knockoff still. Those things are tanks, but very strong and aero.

Actually I got the impression Gipiemme made the rims used for the shamal. Anyways, lets just say I've been trying to get those rims, Gipiemme 416, for several years. They're near impossible to get a hold of in the states. BUT if anyone knows a way, PLEASE let me know!
