I went into my lbs and they had a 2006 CAAD8 R5000 that has a little over a 1,000 miles. The bike looks brand new. Full DA w/ Ksyrium SL3. Asking $1,600 is this a good deal.
They also have a 2006 CAAD8 R1000 Full Ultegra w/ Ksyrium Equip for $1,599.
what would be the better deal?
Thanks,

Given that both fit equally well, I'd go with the 5000. If you buy it at a LBS, I assume youll get the warranty as if you were the 1st owner (make sure this is the case). 1000 miles is not really that much, and the DA + SL3s combo is much, much better than Ulegra with Equipes.

Update:
I went with the 2006 CAAD8 R5000: Here are the specs:
500 miles (I was incorrect on the mileage, the previous owner traded it in for a
new Lynskey full campy record).
Full DA
Reynolds fork
Mavic Kysirium SL3
Thomson Elite Post
FSA 0s-115 stem
FSA K wing handlebar
Italia Ti Sadle
2007 DA pedals
New Continental GPS 3000 tires
Carbon bottle cages
This was a right place at the right time deal. And the best part I have established a stronger relationship with my LBS. They have a loyal customer.
