So I picked up an Indy Fab frame, and love it to death. BUT...I decided to run all Campy record stuff (minus cranks) and the frame has top pull cable routing, not typical bottum pull. Not sure what I can do now, cause I don't see many derailleurs that are top pull for road. Hope someone has a solution. I'm not that keen on running only one ring up front, as I hope to commute/tour on it as well. Hopefully my build isn't toast :cryin:

Thanks in advance

You just need something like this

Ahh, but I have no hole in my bb shell to put a guide in so that it wraps under the bb. Somehow Indy Fab puts top pull cable guides on the Planet X on their website, I just can't figure out how or what derailleur they used.

The pulley clamps to your seattube just below your front derailleur. Your front derailleur cable routes from above, down around the pulley and back up to a standard bottom pull derailleur.

yea, you need what cy1 said.

you could also get a hole drilled for the pulley (or a braze on type deal), but the clamp on is prbly way easier (plus you dont have to drill a hole in your frame). many 'cross frames have top tube cable routing, they just use the pulley ---> so any road fd will work.

Thanks guys! now I can go to bed and sleep comfortably.

You can also email IF. I have a Planet X and emailed them a few times with questions, typically with 24-48hr resopnse time. They are very good answering questions and they make builds with Record, so I'm sure they have some tips.

Make sure you rust proof the insides of the frame tubes with JP Weigle or Boeshield. My IF cross frame rusted through from the inside and cracked on the seattube above the BB.

all the i.f. planet x's I've seen in the past had a brazed on mount for a pulley. I wonder if they've gone away from that in the past few years... hmm....
