I've ridden the same aerobar setup on my tri bike for 8 years- Syntace flat wing with Syntace C2 clipons. Light (or was), reliable, solid, adjustable, and I've had 0 complaints. My only bias would be that Profile hardware used to have problems and they used to make noise and stuff would come loose. But I'm sure that's all changed.
So, what are my choices? What would you recommend? Given the following...
I want to try the new S bend setup. I'll be running D/A 9-speed bar end shifters.
I'd like a bar between 41cm and 43cm c-to-c. Prefer carbon, but not necessary.
My criteria rules out the beatiful new Easton Attack bar - 350g including aerobars, but,
they make it in 38cm only. As much as I'm tempted, I don't think that will work for me.
Plus, I would have to guess they are not super adjustable.
Top of my list now:
* Profile Cobra Wing + Profile Cobra clip-on - 210g + 492g = 702g total, not bad -
and affordable at $149 + $129 = $280 total
* Profile X 1.5 - looks sweet, weighs 820g including stem - but more in the $400 range
* HED whatever they are - $650 - seems to be top shelf, maybe includes brake levers,
would be sweet if I bust my piggy bank
Again, thoughts? Recommendations?
Thanks,
David
