I have been thinking about getting a galileo. The 2006 galileo had two verisons sold in the US with one being 105 and the other being an ultegra. I was looking at 2007 Pinarellos website and they have a galileo with a Veloce group. Then I saw gita bike website and they have the galileo as a ultergra group. So my question is which one is available in the states?

The Gaileos brought into the U.S. come only with Shimano 105 or Ultegra. I think the Ultegra version is about $2,200, the 105 maybe $250 less. I bought a 2006 Galileo, essentially the exact same bike with a few minor cosmetic paint changes with Ultegra 10 and have to say it is a fantastic bike. The shifts are short, crisp, precise both front and rear, the brakes solid, all in all a flawless groupset. I have Campy Record 10 on my Bianchi and, honestly, I like the Ultegra just as well, don't find it coming up short in any way. For the extra $250 (or whatever it is), I would definitely go with Ultegra. And this is one sweet bike: reasonably light, climbs well, rock solid on descents, comfortable. And the thing looks like it cost 5 grand.
