I am shopping for a new road bike frame. My current bike is a Cramerotti Cerreto (steel & heavy). I was just in a local bike shop, and they have a 2006 Look frame and fork, in my size, on sale for $1800. The other frame I am thinking of is the Argon 18 Helium - a similar price for this years frame. I am loving the paint job on the Look (pink and silver, yup, very girly! :) ) and the reviews I have read so far, but am wondering what others think.
Thanks!

Never mind what others think.....YOU will ride it, buy what YOU like !
BTW, you can't go wrong with a Look.

I have seen them go for about 1500.00 on ebay. I had one a while back and it was a nice bike. The only reason I still do not have it is that I had a hairline fracture on the toptube. I postedda pic of it here on the forums and Chas at look had me give him a ring. Long story shot within a a week Look replaced it with the 565. It was the best customer service I had ever had. I highly reccomend Looks!

Thanks Rob! I hope the 565 is treating you well. I'd just like to clarify that the issue with your frame was actually a paint crack which can happen occasionally at the tube/lug junctions because of the different rates of flex between the two. For some reason this was more common with the white paint we used. Fortunately your frame was covered under our 1 year paint and finish warranty. It is very rare to see a broken 555 (as in, I'm sure it could happen but I have yet to see one).

The 2006 555 has the HSC4 fork. Some prefer this fork even though it weighs more than the HSC5 that came on the 2005. Both the 2005 and 2006 555 have a great reputation, The 2007 is new and there is little information yet.
Great bike. Solid reputation. Great company.
My 05' 555 has served me very well. :)
Fit is MOST important though.....

I can recommend the Argon 18 from the standpoint of build, geometry and ride quality. I have a 2005 Platinum - love it. Can't say I like the paint scheme on the 2007 models, though.
