This might bend a rim...

GUATEMALA CITY- A 330-foot-deep sinkhole killed at least two teenagers as it swallowed about a dozen homes forcing the evacuation of nearly 1,000 people. Officials blamed the sinkhole on recent rains and an underground sewage flow from a ruptured main.
The pit emitted foul odors, loud noises and tremors, shaking the surrounding ground. A rush of water could be heard from its depths, and authorities feared it could widen or others could open up.

that is one monstrous "pot"hole. quite scary, you should really try biking your bike over that, and tell us what it does to your rims.

now THAT is scary. It looks like it's hollow underneath! Kind of like there's a 50 or 60 foot crust and then... nothing. eek!

Honestly, I don't think I would be standing anywhere close to that hole. Who is to say that the ground around it is completely fine. I wonder if there used to be a house on there. Imagine being on the comode when that "pothole" opened up. That would not be a good day, even if you weren't on the comode.

Looks more like a secret missile launcher.

Same issues happen in Florida. They are fascinating to look at.

Cool! I'd like to drop in to see what is at the bottom. No, really. Discovery Planet should go there.

The other end of that hole probably opens up in Miami or Houston or San Diego.
