I've lived in Santa Cruz CA, St Louis, and now the Seattle area. On a ride the other day, it struck me that I have never seen such a high percentage of female cyclists as there are here in Seattle. Not talking about racers, just your standard recreational and enthusiast cyclists.
So tell us about your city.
Definately more women in the sport than when I re-started riding in the mid-80s.

tons of chix on bikes around here, and not just the enthusiast kind either.
I've notice more females riding bikes down here in Sandy Eggo especially on the velodrome.

Don't see many in central CT. I had almost caught up when she turned left and headed towards JCavilia's house.

Have you tried the Huntington Beach's trail near the ocean on a sunny summer day?

...Huntington Beach's trail near the ocean on a sunny summer day?
That's as bad as the South Bay bike path between Palos Verdes and Pacific Palisades. It's just too difficult to admire/appreciate the, ahhhh, scenery when you have to keep dodging all the loose dogs, wobbly riders on beach cruisers, inline skaters, little kids who dart across the path without ever checking for oncoming traffic, etc. I avoid the beach towns whenever it gets warm.

Would agree that Seattle has a high volume of chica cyclists. Lots of commuters - and not just the fair-weathered kind.
