Hi everyone, I have ridden a mountain bike for several years now and finally have realized the joys of road bikes. I am in the process of selling my mountain bike (and old full suspension specialized) for a road bike. I am interested in commuting to school and work as well as possibly entering some basic races and maybe more. The guys at the shop have pointed me toward the Raleigh Cadent 2.0. This is in my price range but I don't know much about road bikes. If anyone has any good information or reviews of this bike I would be most appriciative.

Do a search on the Specialized Roubaix and Trek Pilot and you'll come up with some comments. These bikes are designed more for comfort than handling. I have a Roubaix and like it a lot, but I don't race. Bicycling mag had a good review of the Cadent about 10 to 12 months ago.
